Muhammad Usman: Head of DevOps, Sherdil Cloud

Muhammad Usman is Head of DevOps at Sherdil Cloud, where he leads the teams responsible for designing, deploying, and running client cloud environments end-to-end. Over more than a decade in the field, he has built and operated production infrastructure for businesses across Pakistan, the UAE and the United States, spanning fintech platforms handling live transactions, e-commerce systems weathering seasonal traffic spikes, and enterprises migrating away from ageing on-premise hardware. His focus throughout has been the same: infrastructure that stays fast, secure and dependable under real-world load, not just on paper.

At Sherdil Cloud, Muhammad works hands-on with Amazon Web Services, Alibaba Cloud, and Kubernetes rather than from a purely advisory seat, architecting systems, reviewing pipelines, and troubleshooting production issues alongside his engineers. That practical grounding shapes how he approaches every engagement: solutions are designed by people who have run them in production and understand where they break, so clients receive infrastructure proven in practice rather than theory. It is also why so much of his work carries through to knowledge transfer, leaving client teams able to operate confidently on their own.

Muhammad Usman - Author

His work centres on the parts of cloud that decide whether a platform holds up in production: CI/CD pipelines that let teams ship safely and often, container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes, and cost optimisation that keeps cloud spend proportionate to what a business actually uses. He designs with compliance built in from the start, including State Bank of Pakistan requirements for financial data and global standards such as PCI DSS and ISO 27001, so that regulated clients pass audits without last-minute scrambles.

Muhammad holds the AWS DevOps Engineer Professional certification, the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification, and an Alibaba Cloud certification. He is a consistent advocate of the co-build model Sherdil Cloud is known for: pairing client engineers with his team throughout an engagement so the client owns and can run what gets built, rather than being locked into a dependency.

He writes regularly on cloud migration, DevOps practice, Kubernetes and cloud cost management, translating field experience into guidance that technical and business readers can both act on.
